Graham is now sitting up unsupported like a champ. I don't know where that came from either. It seems like he was a wobbly hot mess and then one day I sat him down and he was solid! He didn't tip over until he tried reaching for one of his brother's toys. Now he's testing how far he can reach without falling and his strength and coordination is really impressive. Of course he has gone too far a few times and taken some good headers, but that's all part of the learning process!
Here's his first time sitting up. I had to get him his own block to play with so he would stop reaching for Patrick's toys (and falling over!)
Speaking of chewing on blocks (and everything else in reach), Graham's first tooth finally broke through! I don't think a lack of teeth is going to stop this kid from finding a way to eat his food but some new teeth will definitely help.
Graham is also getting close to crawling already! He has been doing his backwards push/crawl for a while and now he's getting up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth. I think he'll figure it out soon. Patrick has some really cool toys that are always just barely out of reach. Let's just say that he is highly motivated!
Graham's absolute favorite thing right now is his jumper. I think he would jump all day long if it wasn't for eating and naptime. He's already working on his strong Nakamoto legs. Recently he started jumping forward and then lifting his feet so that he swings backwards. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat! It actually looks like a lot of fun!
We were very happy to have Nana and Bapa Nakamoto come and visit recently to help take care of the boys so that I could be involved in my HSU Soccer Alumni weekend. I didn't actually play on the field during our soccer game (my hips haven't recovered from being blasted twice by these boys) but I did play goalie for a half and kept a clean scoresheet!
Patrick impressed everyone on the sidelines with his kicking skills while wearing a pair of hand me down soccer cleats about 20 sizes too big. They were impressed not only by his accurate left footed passing but also with the fact that he didn't trip and fall wearing his clown cleats. I thought for sure he would eat it at least a couple times.
This is in our driveway, not at the game, but you can still see him with an accurate shot of goal with his while wearing his clown cleats!
Patrick is such a little man. A very observant little man with great focus. A few weeks ago we spent the afternoon washing both our cars in the driveway. After helping me and Delmar out for a while and getting the swing of things, Patrick got his own truck out to wash. It was one of the cutest things he's every done! Such attention to detail cleaning all the dirty spots in and out, cleaning the wheels, the grill. It was spotless!
And yes, he's in his underwear :)
Here are a few more good pictures from this past month or so:
